    Sending a document to x4

I cannot send document from Lightning to my recently purchased licensed copy of wpx4.  Whenever I make the attempt, I get a message that says I need to download a trial version of wpx3.  I did the wpx3 download and have no problem sending a document to it.  I don't want to buy wpx3 when I have already bought wpx4.  What's the fix?   Thanks.

    Hi billjohn,

Did you upgrade your version of Lightning to the X4 one?  If not, please delete your Public Beta version of it (making sure to upload your notebook to the online site - I haven't heard of any cases of data getting erased on upgrading, but it is not officially supported).  Then install the X4 version from your WPOX4 CD and give that a try.

Let me know how it works for you.

    Regards,

    Jay

Re: Sending a document to x4

I deleted my existing Lightning using the control panel, then tried installing it from the X4 disk.  It was a NO GO, being grayed out in the menu.  I am guessing that the deletion process did not find everything and left something the installer was seeing.

Also, I don't know how to upload my notebook to online.

    I await your further suggestion.

    Regards,

     Bill

I am using Firefox 3.03, and it seems the add on to send to WP Lightning isn't compatible with the new version of Firefox. This may be a related issue. Any idea when a compatible add on will be available?

    Hi Bill,

Here is the thread where I described how to clean up to reinstall:

    http://officecommunity.com/forums/thread/1453.aspx

Since you deleted Lightning you can't upload now.  But once you get up and running we can revisit.

Let me know if this works.

    Cheers,

    Jay

    Hi jliggett

Check out this thread in a day or two as I am working an update to it (it asks the same question as you).

    Cheers,

    Jay
