I'm having a couple of problems with backup here.
I am unable to set up a free account to backup my files online. I'm not certain why. Usually I'm told that my chosen password is invalid; I finally managed to get through the signup, but joyent.net still says I don't have an account.

It would be very nice feature to have: export the Notebook content to an indexed HTML (XML?) or PDF book-form. Even something simple like for example the first page is the content page with the list of links to topics (notes). That would provide great help with versioning or backup of the content, and make the Lightning more versatile ...

I want to make sure the data file (files?) is backed-up locally but I can't find it. What's the name of the file and in which directory is it?

You can sign up for a free online account where you can keep your Lightning files backed up. Take a look at the Help in Lightning. There is a section called ''Storing Content Online'' that describes how to go about it.
